On June 1st, 2023, Times Higher Education, a UK-based higher education magazine, released THE Impact Rankings 2023. Nagoya City University is ranked 201-300th in the world—and tied for 9th in Japan in the overall ranking.

THE Impact Rankings assess universities’ contributions to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participating universities are evaluated based on submitted data and metrics from external sources.

In SDG3 ranking, Nagoya City University is ranked 7th in the world (1st in Japan for two consecutive years).
